Sega's officially dated the US and European demo for Bayonetta, which will be out on Xbox Live and PSN on December 3.
The bruiser - which released in Japan last month - is already receiving rave reviews, with Edge Magazine dishing out a fabled 10 out of 10 verdict, branding the Platinum game "flawless".
Press release follows...
DEMO FOR 'PERFECT' BAYONETTA DATED FOR DECEMBER 3RD
SEGA of America Inc. and SEGA Europe Ltd. can today announce that a demo for the much anticipated third person action title BAYONETTA will be released on Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network in the US and across Europe on December 3rd.
"Developer PlatinumGames has delivered a true masterpiece," said Gary Knight, European Marketing Director of SEGA Europe. "The recent perfect review scores in such highly respected magazines as Weekly Famitsu and EDGE show the sheer quality of this title. We firmly believe that BAYONETTA will go on to become one of the all-time benchmarks in action gaming."
BAYONETTA has achieved a perfect score of 10/10 in EDGE magazine in the UK, becoming only the 11th game to do so in the magazine's history since its first issue in 1993.
BAYONETTA was also recently reviewed by Japan's most respected games magazine Weekly Famitsu, achieving a perfect score of 40/40 for Xbox 360 and 38/40 for PlayStation 3, with both scores garnering a Platinum award. BAYONETTA is only the 12th game ever to receive a perfect score in the magazine's history since its first issue in 1986.
BAYONETTA is set for release in the US on January 5th and across Europe on January 8th 2010 on Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION3 computer entertainment system. BAYONETTA was released in Japan on October 29th.
Im assuming its going to be the same demo that appeared on the Japanese marketplace?
I just didnt get it. The Game looks good but nothing jaw dropping and it seemed to be the usual DMC / GoW Gameplay. I must have missed something or the demo isnt representative of the whole Game going by the reviews for it so far.
I've just received the latest OPM, who gave the game a 9/10! I haven't had chance to read the full review, but they did mention that the PS3 version isn't anyway near as bad a port as others have forewarned.
I generally trust these guy's, so it may be a purchase for me.
Then again, Darksiders and Dantes Inferno are out around that time too, so who knows...
day one purchase for me. It'll tide me over nicely untill Mass effect 2 comes out at the end of jan.
I played both demos and actually enjoyed the PSN one more, purely from a content purspective as you actually get to finish the boss fight rather than it cutting out half way through.
But i will definately opt for the 360 version over the PS3 one. It looks a little crisper and vibrant and it was actually made by Platinum games rather than being a port.
But if you've only got a PS3 there's nothing that stands out too much on the PS3 version it just seemed a little darker but was still perfectly playable.

I'd only opt for the PS3 version because of the smaller triggers on the PS3 pad, which are far better suited (in my opinion) to these types of games.
It's, therefore, good to hear that the differences are actually very slight.
