Food delivery man robbed at gunpoint in Evanston

The robbery happened about ten minutes after midnight on the 1800 block of Hovland Court on Thursday morning, according to Evanston police. The delivery man told police that while  making a delivery he was approached by three masked men who demanded his money, hit him in the face, took his food, cell phone and cash and fled on foot.

1 dead, 1 wounded in West Side police-involved shooting

One suspect in a carjacking is dead, another is wounded and a third arrested but not hurt following an incident that started on the South Side and ended with police shooting two suspects Thursday night in the West Side Lawndale community.

Mother dead, infant in critical after domestic related stabbing

A mother who was stabbed during an domestic incident Monday night has died and her infant son who was also stabbed in the attack remains in critical condition early Tuesday on the South Side, police said.

Dugan sentenced to death in Nicarico girl's death
It took more than 26 years for Brian Dugan to finally face judgment for his vicious 1983 murder of Jeanine Nicarico. A DuPage County jury took less than 11 hours to decide Wednesday that Dugan should die for kidnapping, raping and beating the 10-year-old girl after breaking into her Naperville home.
