Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick has said that Gearbox's FPS Borderlands shows so much promise it could be become a long-term franchise for the firm.
In a confernce call today the chairman is reported to have said that the shooter with a bazillion guns is "showing every sign of becoming an important, long-term franchise."
That's quite a way off superstar analyst Michael Pachter's view that the game was "sent to die."
Super internet spy Superannuation has also uncovered word that the developer has trademarked Borderworlds.

I really wanted to enjoy this game. Too bad a game breaking bug for the PC version (although not all PC users were affected,) prevented me from playing beyond the first 12 minutes of the game. I traded the game in the day after I bought it and got the CE version of "Dragon Age" instead.
I'm willing to give "Borderlands" another go but I would want to be sure that the patches have taken care of the aforementioned bug and more. Also, if you buy the PC version don't forget that it has SecuROM and limited activations. Apparently the SecuROM stays on the disc (so a simple disc check then,) and you can reclaim the activation but only if you do so before uninstalling the game.
I'm sorry to hear some of you P.c guys having Issues with this game, I have this on 360 and have to say this game is just awesome best game of 2009 with out a doubt, A really good FPS and fun RPG elements rolled into one, Im on my 3rd character atm and waiting for a few friends to catch up to level 50 so we can go through the expansion together. I must say this is the 1st game I have absolutley no complaints what so ever, Top stuff and well done to Gearbox Studios for a fantastic game in every aspect.
For me, what killed the game off prematurely was that there is absolutely no challenge to this game whatsoever. It is in fact so easy, that the only way to enjoy the game (especially in the second playthrough) is to play with sub standard weapons to level it out. Since the games main character is the weapon system, that kind of defeats the object.
Add to that one of the worst online implementations to a game I've seen in about 3 years and you've got a game that won't last on the PC for long at all.
Sorry Randy, but you can take your DLC and shove it and perhaps instead of slagging off your "best buddies," Valve, you could learn your lessons from them. I'm expecting his next release to be a 360 exclusive tbh
