Gibsons family treats 250 folks to a free meal
An elegant lady in an ankle-length fur coat entered Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse on Rush Street on New Year's Day, then came right back out, disappointed. Gibsons was closed to its regular crowd of well-heeled customers. Instead, about 150 Gibsons workers and their families were volunteering next door at Hugo's Frog Bar & Fish House, another Gibsons restaurant -- serving free meals to 250 people served by Catholic Charities, coming from homeless shelters, senior and veterans centers and other programs.
