Assassins Creed 2 players are being caught in a game-breaking glitch that see's them trapped in the Hideout with no way of continuing their quest.
The error seems to arise if players turn off their console after saving their game upon passing Chapter 11.
We've received multiple emails, with one reader who encountered the glitch telling CVG: "I, like many others, seem to be getting a glitch after finishing sequence 11. After the save I quit out of the game. After I returned the next day it loads the hideout level and nothing happens. You just walk about with nobody there."
It doesn't seem to happen to everyone, but once it does occur there appears to be no way out of it other than to start over again.
CVG has contacted Ubisoft and awaits a reply. For now, we'd advise you not to quit out of the game after that particular checkpoint.
Shocking glitch to happen and more proof that console games are no longer being subjected to the rigorous testing of days gone by now that the DLC age is upon us.
If I wanted broken games and multiple software patches I'd get a PC.
Ah Regiep, you don't seem to realise that the consoles offer the developer the chance to catch bugs like these, so that the PC market doesn't have to deal with it when its released.
I've only encountered one glitch in the game so far, but it wasn't game breaking (probably because I turned my console off without saving). Recorded it on my digital camera but haven't been able to replicate it yet.
Every Ubisoft game I've played has had glitches in them, sometimes small sometimes big. I've encountered a couple in AC2 but not this. In fact my copy seems perfectly fine. Hope it doesn't screw anyone up too bad though!
Thats the difference between a japanese and western developed games. Western games are more glithy than japanese games because japanese developers have more dicipline when making games making them technically superior and more polished result.
The same thing happened to me in Far Cry 2. I got stuck sitting on a truck in a closed room with no way of getting out. I would have had to start the whole game again if I didn't have multiple game saves. I don't think I would have had the mental strength to start over.

i had one of these glitches in far cry 2 as well, although i didn't have multiple saves or the patience to start over. traded the game in, got half what i paid for it and was not happy at all
