Игорь Малков
* 9 February 1965 – Unknown
Igor Malkov was Olympic 10000 m champion 1984, winning with a margin of 5 one-hundredths of a second to Tomas Gustafson, becoming the youngest Olympic champion in the history of Olympic speed skating; 19 years and 9 days. Earlier in the games he lost the 5000 m title with a margin of only 2 one-hundredths of a second to Gustafson.
Earlier the same winter Malkov sent waves of shock into the speed skating world when he skated 13.54,81 and was the first to break the 14 minutes barrier during the Christmas races at Medeo in december 1983. The time was never recognized as a World Record by ISU. He set a new official World Record later the same season, when he did 14.21,51 at Medeo in March 1984, almost 30 seconds behind his personal best.
