Andy Bell to return to guitar for Liam Gallagher's new band - video

Gallagher gives more details about who he's working with

Andy Bell is set to return to the guitar for Liam Gallagher's post-Oasis band.

Bell was an acclaimed guitarist with former band Ride, but switched to bass when offered a berth in Oasis.

However Liam Gallagher has confirmed that he has recruited as an as-yet unnamed bass player for the new group which will feature Bell and guitarist Gem Archer.

Other members include members of Oasis live band, drummer Chris Sharrock and keyboard player Jay Darlington.

"It's me, it's Gem, and it's Andy," Gallagher told Sky News. "We've got a new bass player, and he's mega. We've got the old drummer, Chris Sharrock. We've got the old keyboard player [Jay Darlington]."

Gallagher again added that the band are struggling to come up with a name.

"We're sort of going through the mill abut getting new names," he said. "Nothing's sticking."

Asked if he had a message for Noel Gallagher, Liam replied: "Good luck mate. See you in the next world. Don't be late."

He added that the band are currently working on new material, saying: "We'll see what happens when the record's done. We're concentrating on the music at the moment."

I really didn't care anything much about all this Oasis drama, but I am now very interested in a new "Oasis" with Andy Bell being given greater artistic direction. I always loved Ride.

Give Liam a break, okay he relied on his brother considerably....... but he has to be, one of the greatest British Frontman, that this country has ever produced........just look at the shit being offloaded on todays youth.......Johnny Borrell.......Bloc Party.......et al, there is no comparison......as a Frontman, Liam is head and shoulders above the competition........and this from someone that doesnt care much for Oasis....

Very true Willy Plonka, and we can't really write off music that we haven't even heard yet.

Finally some positive comments about Liam and the 'new' band.. In a way, I kinda saw this coming. Andy is a very talented guitarist. His songs on the last few albums haven't been as simple to 'pick up and play' as everyone elses, including Noel's.As for Liam, he deserves a chance. It seems these days it's cool to hate Oasis, when I'd guess 99% of those haters don't even have any of their albums. I for one am looking forward to hearing what the new material is like. It'd be good to see people stop disregarding it just because it's Liam..

Hmm I think Liam should check his website more often, because it does brag about where the material is from, hence why the clothes are all ridiculously overpriced.
