Modern Warfare 2 director, Keith Arem is set to switch mediums and head up a full feature film, it's been announced.
Arem will direct 'action thriller' Frost Road, which is to be overlooked by Closer producer Cary Brokaw along with Steven L'Heureux.
The film blurb reads: "FROST ROAD concerns a small coastal Eastern town which is suddenly and inexplicably devastated by an invisible contagion. A young man awakens from a car accident to discover he is one of few survivors in the aftermath of a mysterious outbreak.
"Somehow immune, he tries to save the remaining survivors from themselves, as he desperately struggles to prevent the deadly wave from spreading across the entire planet." Get 50 Cent to call in a few airstrikes, and we're in.
Producer Brokaw bigged-up Arem's move from gaming to movies, praising "...the incredible results that Keith achieved in Modern Warfare 2. The popular response to the title speaks for itself.
"There's a great deal that film can learn from the dynamic and immersive experience of games, in the same way the medium has drawn on graphic novels for visual inspiration," he said. "With FROST ROAD, we believe that we've harnessed the best of not just both, but all three worlds."
Do we sense a trend building? Will Cliffy B soon be heading up the new Bond movie?
Let me get this straight: "MW2" borrows heavily from some of Hollywood's biggest action blockbusters and now a movie wants to imitate "MW2"? Oh the irony.
This sounds a bit weak to me, but maybe they'll pleasantly surprise.
if 50 cents is in the film calling in airstrikes then im calling my m8 at blockbuster to let me now when the blu ray/dvd is in the bargain bin
I rather thought that CVG line was amusing. Hardly an indicator of sound acting and plot though. Still, "50 Cent: Blood On The Sand" apparently wasn't too shabby (to much surprise).

yeah i took the remark as an attempt at early morning humour, but the more times I read the article, they actually mean it? but then again i've been up all night so my brain might be switched off, i duno...
Uwe Boll raped the "Wing Commander" franchise! Apparently his "Blood Rayne" attempts weren't much better though I haven't subjected myself to them. I fluctuate between feeling sympathy for the man and grimacing at his bungled movie attempts.

Apparently Postal was fairly acceptable. Not enough to make me want to watch it, though.
Yep, its perfect for more Hollywood fodder. Just like the Doom 'film' I will put money on this appearing then vanishing at the blink of an eye... The only game to film adaption I thought was not too bad was probably (and I say this in the broadest sense) Resident Evil. But generally, its just to cash in and milk the cow while they can, which eventually becomes a dead horse but its flog...flog...flog...
