As if Halo Reach, Tron and (we suspect) Dead Space 2 wasn't enough, a brand new Star Wars game will air its official reveal during the Spike VGAs on US television next month, it's been revealed.
The news comes via host Geoff Keighley's Twitter, which reads: "Next Star Wars game to be announced at the VGAs on December 12th on Spike."
There's also a teaser video (which shows nothing). See it below.
Could this be the long-delayed official announcement of Star Wars: Battlefront 3? Check back next month to find out.
Excited? Possibly. Apprehensive? Deffinitely. I just hope its something big, not a Lego Star Wars game based on Force Unleashed for example, and not an announcement to an already known game (ie: Old Republic). Unlike most I enjoyed Force Unleashed and would love to see a sequel for it although I think they may have exhausted the character and his plot line, so new characters would have to be introduced. Also with the release of Ultimate Sith Edition not long ago, and the general poor reception for FU I dont think the announcement will be about that.
Battlefront 3 for PS3/360 would be a great announcement and one that I hope will happen...Although I enjoyed Republic Commando, the plethora of FPS's available at the moment is overpowering so I hope its not a sequel to that.
However a new Jedi Knight/Academy game or one of the same style would be welcomed, or maybe a new KOTOR, but also available on consoles.
Hopefully nothing on handheld and not anything to do with the Clone Wars series as they have already botched the game for that (although a more realistic game based in the clone wars era wouldnt be a miss).
Guess all we can do is wait and see...(and maybe hope for a leak before Dec 12 )
KOTOR 3 please, for the love of god finish Revan's tale for the people who started it on Xbox. I've been waiting for about 5 years now and i'm starting to think they've forgot about it. I won't mind if its something else thats good just as long as its not anything from that god awful Clone wars cartoon. Bounty Hunter 2 or Battlefront 3 would be great, just as long as they're available on PS3 or 360.
Lucasfilm/LucasArts eh? Now I am going to tell you guys why I shall NEVER buy another one of their products again. You see, I am in a major dispute with them. Type the word 'jellydroids' into Google and click on the USPTO link. If you want to know what the case is about, then click on to my Facebook profile (Jon Ahmad) and see the amazing Star Wars confectionery packets of sweets my company designed for them. I am the trademark owner Ayaz(Jon)Ahmad and it is about the word 'droid' apparently. I own the mark 'jellydroids' for Europe and it is now pending in the United States. Lucasfilm's Head of International Licensing, Casey Collins telephoned me from San Francisco to discuss a possible collaboration in regards to the Star Wars Jellydroids sweets (see Facebook profile) albeit on their VERY one sided terms and I refused. So you see, I used to be an avid Star Wars fan, but I have realised that it has become a case of 'crush the little guy while he's down'...No way! The packet designs are awesome (thanks to Genndy Tartakovsky's brilliant artwork) by Candy Bus Entertainment (myself the founder) gave Lucasfilm the idea of Star Wars jelly sweets. They liked it and wanted to do it but unfortunately, they don't own the 'Jellydroids' registered trademark...I do! So will we ever see the sweets on the market? Who knows, but if you are a Star wars fan with a sweet tooth, write to them and tell them it makes sense to do business where BOTH parties benefit... Thanks for reading guys and I know this is irrelevant to the topic, but it is interesting nontheless...but the sweet packets do ROCK!!!
