Voting has now closed for the 27th Annual Golden Joystick Awards

Thanks and huge congratulations to everyone who voted this year, for helping to not only shape gaming history, but for setting a new world record with a massive 1,223,646 votes cast in the people’s gaming awards.

We'll be announcing all of the winners on 30th October during the grand finale to 2009's London Games Festival, but look out for full coverage on CVG.co.uk and Games Radar who’ll be reporting live from the show.

JOYSTICKS PROMOTION

For the UK launch of the new Golf GTI this year, Volkswagen constructed a Scalextric track on an epic scale to lend enthusiasts the chance to race the new hot hatch online and against the clock.

Based in a secret room in the factory where the engineers still obsess over continually improving the iconic model, is the GTI Project. It’s an online game where you can control the scale sized Golf GTI as it negotiates the hairpins, straights and narrow bridges that make up the track.

Along the way you can learn more about the new Golf GTI, from its new 2.0-litre TSI engine to the advanced six-speed DSG gearbox, and other performance information. In addition you can order a brochure or even book a test drive.
