Cool, I just hope it isn't like last years with that annoying two minute trailer when you finished a match.
Black Mantis on 17 Sep '09
I hope it dosen't take untill late in the evening for this to come on PSN. Fifa10 didn't go on untill about 8pm when that demo came out so I didn't have time to play it untill the next day.
wiikii007 on 17 Sep '09
It's the same as last year. Some new animations etc... but it's essentially the same as last year. The players don't feel like they have any weight to them either
Liamario on 17 Sep '09
oh no I was hoping this was going to be good! Don't tell me it's rubbish!
juniorbeep on 17 Sep '09
Damn it Pes whats going on Fifa is slowly stealing your crown this demo is just not good enough i thought they would have learned last year with Fifa catching up
dangermou5e on 17 Sep '09
Damn it. I had intended to leave ProEvo alone but after playing the demo I'm going to have to find a way to aford it! It's really nice. I love the way you can control the team tatics. Gives you a much better manager role in choosing how the team play. The game engine runs smoother and the graphics are improved. I think the forum posters above me downloaded an old version of PES, or they're FIFAnboys! The controls are far better too. Overall a worthwhile update.
Jensonjet on 17 Sep '09
Disappointing. I was hoping for PES to really improve, but it just hasn't caught up to FIFA IMO. 360 controls aren't as smooth as FIFA's and whilst the player models and cut-scene graphics are good, when playing the game it doesn't look so hot.

AI is great on the most difficult setting however, and their is no doubt it will be great fun to play amongst mates. Hopefully the final version will show much more improvements, but I'll be cancelling my pre-order as FIFA is edging it at the moment.
Black Mantis on 17 Sep '09
ok now played both games... I have to say they are quite different especially if you play them back to back... FIFA I find a little too realistic? If that's possible. It's good ... don't get me wrong but I find it a bit hard going, a bit of a slog which is fine in a way I guess. I found PES a lot more accessible seems faster and I guess more "arcadey". Not sure either of them break much new ground to be honest. PES still has stupid offside every 2 mins ... the kind you couldn't ever judge which makes me a bit grrr. I think if I was going to be playing with mates I feel PES would be more "fun". If playing against the AI I think maybe fifa has a bit more longevity. Certainly no clear winner this year.. erm... Score draw.. 2-2 Smile
juniorbeep on 17 Sep '09
I tried the demo. FIFA 10 is miles better. PES 10 is slow. It felt empty and quite boring.
Zphex on 17 Sep '09
oh I thought the complete opposite actually. I don't really mind which is better TBH just want a fun game. Found Fifa a bit clinical and PES bit more end to end and fun... Just my opinion. Smile What made FIFA good or better ?
juniorbeep on 17 Sep '09
Jesus, PES10 is bad. I mean, BAD.

My FIFA-hating, PES-fanatic mate just sent me a text which said "what the hell have they done, this is like playing FIFA 2002".

Go on Twitter and search under #PES10 and you will find messages from hundreds of unhappy punters.

The player models looks incredible though and better FIFA10's by quite some way. Just played a replayed with the camera on Gerrard's face, panting for breath and then celebrates instantly at the end is very impressive.

However, the animations to go with the characters are awful. Keeper was about to take a goal kick, Torres is stood in front of him bouncing up and down on his heels like a character from Street Fighter 2 Turbo.

I think this game will see a lot of PES fans fall out of love with the franchise... seriously..
The_Johnson on 17 Sep '09
After playing both demos and having both 2009 games last year I think PES has improved the most so far. Fifa has more precise 360 degree dribbling but to be honest it feels as though you don't have as much control over your players than in PES.

Also, I don't like the crossing on either of the Fifa's and the only way to score seems to be through-balls to strikers (on 2009 atleast) which is pretty boring. Especially as this is pretty much the only thing people do on the online mode to get goals. Dunno about new Fifa yet but seems to be going down the same route.

Pes just feels more varied in the gameplay and more fun which is the most important for me anyway.

Graphics on PES are AWESOME Cool

Just finished playing the demo and i can safely say i ain`t picking this one up on launch day.

The game feels miles more realastic than FIFA the first touches are tough to pull off at any decent pace ,same with shooting ,shot actualy take a bit of time to be taken as they would in real life ,and the slightest nudge knocks you off balance, again much like it would in real life ,if they`d included FIFA`s collison detection stuff from 09 then i would have called this the definitive football sim because frankly , it would be.

But FIFA although far more arcadey (it`s ridiculously easy to cut even the most organized of defences to swiss cheese with a quick run and shot on goal )it`s real end to end stuff ,and frankly that`s what i lok for in my footie games the fun factor ,which i suppose is why i`ve always been a big sensi fan SmileSmileSmile

PES Looks nicer than it has for years but nothing else. Fifa while still not perfect has moved on a very big step over these last two years and is miles ahead of PES. While PES has some nice touches these are things which should have been built on, they have become the new EA, lets re-hash the same game every year.
laslowoodbine on 18 Sep '09
What's the point in bringing out a new pro evo game with no improvements? If konami think they're gonna get my money for this rubbish, they better think again.
I bought FIFA last year for this reason, and before that I'd never bought a FIFA game since FIFA '99.

FIFA 2010 all the way for me!
th3dudeabides on 18 Sep '09
i went over to fifa last year but you know what after playing the demos, i think im well back in favour of pro!

It feels like a solid game this is what it should have been 2 years ago but its here now, and just my opinion finally but its got its crown back. Fifa is great but really didnt think 10 showed any difference to 09 and I have been playing it a lot!

maybe ill swap over each season to relive what the other one does better than the other etc haha
nash121 on 18 Sep '09
After playing both, I still think Pro Evo is just more fun, and dare I say, now looks better than Fifa too. Fifa has a certain gloss lacking in Pro Evo, but the players still look like mutants to me. As for gameplay, yes Fifa is a more realistic interpretation of the beautiful game.....but that is a 90 minute match....in terms of the 10 minute matches most gamers will play, Pro Evo just packs in a lot more excitement.

While I admit there is a lot to like about Fifa - I love the way players jostle for the ball and position, I still never feel like I'm 100% in control of my player like I do in pro Evo. I'm sure Fifa will have great online options etc again, but when I'm sitting on the couch with my mates, there's only going to be one winner - Pro Evo.
Liam 05 on 18 Sep '09
I cant believe all these comments saying pro evo has only improved slighty compared to fifa, when if you look at the majority of fifa games over the years there is hardly any difference between them.

And to the poster who said that pro evo was slow and fifa faster, keep on trucking you loon Laughing
plumboy 2000 on 18 Sep '09
Is it just me or does the pitch in PES feel like its a 5-a-side pitch? It goes from one end of the park to the other in about 3 seconds.

Can't fault the player models, when they're standing still, but they seem to run like monkeys and all the creases on the shirts are identical on every player model. The game still seems to feel more like a game of ping pong with the ball rattling back and forward and it still has the sound of 2 pieces of wood hitting together for nearly every sound effect in the game.

The addition of 360 degree control is done well though and the arcadey nature of the game does make it seem like it could be a lot of fun multiplayer for a couple of games. But there seems to be some of the same errors from previous versions still in there (might be taken out before release) and i can see the game just annoying me after a few matches.

I think i'll be sticking with Fifa for another year as i still prefer my games of football to be a bit more realistic. Hopefully Seabass takes a good look at the critism of this game and goes back to the drawing board and gives himself 2 years developing time to turn out a new PES, not an amalgamation of previous years versions again.

Me and a friend always have this conversation EVERY single year a PES demo is released, we always say that NO ONE ever touches on the fact that these demos are always 'beta' meaning they are about 3 months old and probably missing 30%+ animations as well as shooting and passing issues. save judgement for the final game!! ok so EA dont release half bottomd demos, KONAMI do and always have.Just keep the demo on your hard drives and compare it to the full game you'll see what i mean, shots that were once pea rolling into the bottom corners or skying out of the stadium will be sailing beautifully into the top corners convincingly, or passes that were falling short for no reason will be reaching their man for him to flick on in style with that once MISSING animation. Surely there is another who really knows what im talking about? right?

The thing is a bad demo is enough to put people off from purchasing the full game, so they should have held off until they put a decent demo together. I don't care if things such as music, commentary, graphics presentation, etc, are missing. Just get the gameplay correct and I'll be fine.

There is no way I'd buy PES on day one this year going by that demo, which is surely the point of demos, to convince people your game is the one to buy is it not?

As it stands, I'll be renting PES 2010 to give it one more chance, as I feel FIFA hasn't added enough changes to warrant a day one purchase either (worth about £20-£25). I feel that as the FIFA license holders, EA should be delivering a more robust package, why should we have to buy a separate game for the World Cup? A World Cup mode within this release would have me chomping at the bit, and shouldn't be too hard to sort out.

I get what your saying but the released game isn't that different from the demo. Most of the niggles are still in the finished product.

I always give both games a fair crack of the whip as my mate will always buy one and i'll get the other. Its just over the last 2 years we've found Fifa to be the better football experience.

Are all of you even playing the same game? i mean seriously different views on here regarding gameplay. How can so many be so conflicting on the style of football regardless of whether you like it or not.

Some saying its to fast, others to slow, some saying its arcadey others its to much like a simulation, then there's people saying its end to end fun and others its boring. All of these views are compared to the gameplay on Fifa so cant really be that much down to subjectivity. It should be pretty clear if its faster or slower than fifa or more arcadey or realistic surely?

I havent managed to have a go on it yet and wanted some feedback from you guys but not if you some of you don't even understand the term arcade.

TBH i thought the same when i read some of the posts.
I'd say PES is a hell of a lot faster than Fifa and more arcade like due to the back and forth nature of the game and the smaller pitch size.

Fifa plays a slower build up game and you really have to probe for your chances.

Thankyou, i was looking forward to the game and hoping to gain an inclin on whether i would like it or not. I thought i wasn't understanding the thread or what posters were trying to say about the demo with so many conflicting views on gameplay alone and thats without even taking into consideration their views on whether they liked it or not.

For sure Konami are shooting themselves in the foot by releasing an unfinished representation of their game but the point im making is this is NOT what you will or may be buying come late october, years back i had a modded xbox, every year i would get a pirated copy of pes around about a month early, it was then i picked up on konami releasing half finished versions of the game. Then i noticed the retail demos were segments of this exact same stage of development, i started to almost ignore these versions and as i said before wait for the full release.
So to anyone who hasnt read back posts trust me, the full game will be alot more polished, it has been for the last 5 or so years, this is a 3 month old E3 and Co. demo. you wouldnt judge a car with no bodywork right?
HATTORI82 on 18 Sep '09
My My. This supposed three month old demo has just ruined FIFA 2010 for me. I enjoyed the greater degree of control offerred.

Ditto that dude,i really really hope PES gets it right this year!! I actually deviated to the dark side for the first time ever last season, and at first i was swayed by FIFA's charms but after a few months of playing something just didn't feel right with the general way the players behave on the pitch(nothing to do with the fact they all look like someone left the coathangers in thier shirts) its something about the tactics and the way midfielders act when the ball is up the pitch-the way they position them selves just isn't real football...especially after corners and free kick set pieces.

Just played the PES demo and for me it's like the awaited return of a long lost friend-so far so good...and if like a few previous people have said and this is a 'bad demo' thens things(for me) can only get better!!

I will be returning to PES this year!!!!!

i think the PES 10 graphics are better than fifa10, but apart from that i think fifa10 wins the demo battle.

just tried fifa 09 (my 1st fifa after 9Cool .. what can i say .. absolute rubbish ! still looks similar than the old fcking fifa ! they say pro evo 09 suck .. well today it prouved otherwise .. pro evo is way better .. players keeps falling like b!tches in fifa 09

Man oh man..I really dont understand u people! let me give u a piece of advice, judge a demo after playing it over and over again, thats when u appreciate the depth and realsm of pes10. I played both Fifa10 and Pes10 in depth..now let me tell u this,Fifa10 is good but Pes10 player attributes resembles acurately real life players. For example, a player like Gerrard has incredible long passes and long range shots which u "feel" in Pes10. In Fifa10 or Fifa09 (and the rest) all players r Gerrards and Messi and Ronaldinho and Nesta all put together!! including Goalkeepers!!!..I mean...C'MON!. Fifa games u enjoy for a while dont get me wrong, but the pulling power and the lasting appeal belong to the King of football games..PES..No doubt.
