Matt Casamassina: Perhaps it's because the Zelda series is held to unfair standards, but we've seen some negative remarks about the latest console title, Twilight Princess, from some diehard fans. While we agree that ultimately Eiji Aonuma's latest epic seems inspired by Ocarina of Time at the very least, the end experience remains nothing short of remarkable. Link returns to Hyrule to do battle with an all-new evil and the franchise's trademark mechanics surround his journeys. Tight controls. Thrilling enemy and boss fights. Clever environmental puzzles. Weapon upgrades. The ability to travel across a vast and connected world filled with obstacles and challenges. It's all presented with meticulous beauty. And this time around Link can also transform into a wolf to do battle, which dramatically transforms the battlefield. It may not be as innovative as Ocarina of Time was, but Twilight Princess remains one of Wii's very best games and indeed one of the great titles of the last decade.
