Darksiders video shows art

Who said violence can't be beautiful?
Here's a new developer diary for THQ's Darksiders, which is out on 360 and PS3 on January 8.

Set in a future where an apocalypse has torn the world apart (when hasn't it?), the game casts you as one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, "War", who's out to throw more punches than a disgruntled Leona Lewis fan.

Check out this Darksiders preview for more info, why don't you?

This game, along with "Alan Wake", are two of the games I anticipate most for the Xbox 360 over the coming months (barring a sudden announcement that "Alan Wake" will once again be released for the PC as well).

I must admit - that looked a lot better than any of the previews I've seen so far.

I love the use of colour, looks like they've made some great environments there. The characters look good and well designed (as you'd expect from Joe Madureira) and it looks to have some pretty impressive boss-fights (I'm a sucker for huge monsters).

It will still definitely depend on the reviews - this isn't a title I'd instantly pre-order, but I am very interested in how this one pans out. I know Joe Madureira has always been a huge gaming fan, so it'd be great for him if he gets a hit with this one (I know there were a couple of attempts that led nowhere and a failed company). The industy could always do with talented guys like that.
