Square Enix has officially announced the long-rumoured Kayne & Lynch 2.
Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, as it's known, is headed to PlayStation3, Xbox 360 and PC in 2010, the publisher's confirmed.
The sequel is described as "a raw and brutal crime shooter designed to take players on an even more intense story experience, following two of gaming's most disturbed criminals, through the gritty Shanghai underworld."
SE promises a "new visual experience" for the second game, inspired by documentary filmmakers and" the user-generated era".
"Every aspect of the game has been designed to deliver a fresh perspective to the words 'intensity' and 'realism' in video games," Square Enix's master PR writes.

"Gamers are always looking for something new and that is exactly what they are going to get with Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days," boldly promises IO boss, Niels Jřrgensen.
"A special thanks to gamers worldwide for their feedback. They are certainly in for a shock as we, with immense pride, welcome back our two dear, violent and somewhat unfortunate friends."
Here's hoping IO can 'do an Assassin's Creed II' and deliver a wrong-righting sequel.
I'm quite looking forward to this. I hope they do what seems to have been done with Assassin's Creed and taken on board the criticisms of the original game. This could be brilliant.
Can't wait to see what they do with this! I actually quiet liked the 1st game! thought the idea, and levels worked, just the non existant online co-op story mode and gameplay let it down! but the online robbery's where really fun to do with mates!
