Fred Karger joined the campaign management and governmental affairs firm, The Dolphin Group in 1977 and served as the firm's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer until his retirement in 2004. Mr. Karger's extensive experience in politics and corporate public relations has spanned over thirty years.

While at the Dolphin Group Karger managed numerous campaigns for federal, state and local office. He ran several successful opposition campaigns including heavy involvement in two Presidential elections.

In 2006 Karger founded Save the Boom!!! www.savetheboom.com a grassroots campaign to save the oldest gay bar in the Western US, the landmark Boom Boom Room and Coast Inn in which it was housed. This got Mr. Karger active in LGBT politics and was the natural precursor to his starting Californians Against Hate www.CaliforniansAgainstHate.com This is designed to bring public attention to the major donors to the qualification effort and now the Yes on Proposition 8 campaign. If Proposition 8 is passed by the voters, it will end the recently enacted marriage equality in California. It will appear on the November 4th California ballot.

Karger has also been very active in community and charitable organizations in Southern California for over three decades.

How much food can $125,000 buy to feed the hungry? How many books would it buy to help children? How much medicine can it buy to help the sick? How many better uses of $125,000 are there than using it to take away marriage equality from millions of Californians?
