Sky Crawlers: Feb take-off

Intriguing Wii anime aerial combat game due early 2010.
Namco Bandai has lifted the lid on Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces, an air-combat game for the Wii developed by Ace Combat studio Project Aces featuring anime-style interludes.

Lens flare? On the Wii?
If you're an anime fan, Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces has impeccable credentials - it's based on the 2008 film Sky Crawlers, from acclaimed director Mamoru Oshii, of Ghost In The Shell fame. Project Aces reckons it: "Pushes the Wii hardware to the extremes of its capabilities," mixing high-altitude, high-realism combat (with the Wii Nunchuk acting as a joystick) and over 30 minutes of anime cinematics.
It sounds like Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces will have one of those bonkers plots which Japanese developers do so well: you play a pilot in a world where there is no war, but in which corporations stage fictional "war shows". Transferred into the Rostock Corporation, your fellow aces "Appear to be mere children". Among whom one girl, Maumi Orishina, stands out.

Namco Bandai says Innocent Aces: Sky Crawlers will hit these shores in February 2010. More info when we get it.
