Bball recruiting gurus - what's the word on DCD 2011 Center Amir Williams!?
Beilein's squad is going to need a legitimate post man like him in the worst way after Sims graduates. How are we looking?
By your own soul, learn to live. If some men thwart you, take no heed. If some men hate you, have no care. Sing your song, dream your dream, hope your hope and pray your prayer." - Parkenham Beatty (~ Lloyd Carr)
With State taking Adreian Payne this year and Amir being friends with Brundidge, I think we have a pretty good shot.
I've heard/read that early leaders were M, MSU, and OSU. MSU took 2 centers in 2009 (Sherman and Nix). Payne in 2010. Plus they'll have a couple others with eligibility still on the roster. Barring crazy one-and-dones, I don't think there is a spot for him at MSU.
With OSU's insane recruiting and attrition, I'm not sure they know exactly what their 2011 needs will be.
Amir is highly ranked because of his potential, not his production. He is a bit of a project, but Beilein has a good track record with these types. Having said that, given M's depth, he'd probably start as a Frosh.
It's looking like Beilein is shooting for Zeigler in 2010, and either Plumlee or Amir in 2011. I get the sense they'd prefer someone like Plumlee over Amir.
