Keisha Buchanan has promised that her solo material will show a "fierce" side to her.

The 25-year-old, who was ousted from Sugababes last month, revealed that she has already started working on new music.

"I've been away taking a break from things but writing new songs," she told the Daily Star.

"I've got no firm plans yet, just been re-evaluating things, but I want to come back with something fierce when I do. I'm just looking forward."

The star, who insisted that she has no hard feelings towards the current Sugababes members, admitted that she turned to former bandmate Mutya Buena after leaving the group.

"I'm happy, Mutya's been very supportive. It's been good to talk with her and have so many friends look out for me," she said, adding: "We're not forming another band, that is out of the question. But we are friends, of course."
