Peter Andre has been tipped to take over from Paul O'Grady in Channel 4's teatime slot next year.

According to the Daily Star, the singer has entered "advance talks" with the broadcaster over plans to launch his own chatshow in 2010.

A source said: "Peter is seriously hot property at the moment and producers are really impressed with his relaxed charm. Viewers both young and old can relate to him and that is exactly what a teatime show needs."

Andre was a guest host on Tuesday's edition of O'Grady's programme, which saw him interviewing X Factor winner Alexandra Burke. He has also joined This Morning as a showbiz reporter this year.

O'Grady announced last month that he is to leave Channel 4 at the end of his current series. He will launch a new primetime Friday night show on ITV1 in 2010.
