Brown blasts Acorah for Jackson séance

Derren Brown has blasted Derek Acorah for attempting a live séance with the late Michael Jackson.

Last month, Sky1 announced plans to screen Acorah's show, which will see him try to contact the deceased singer.

Writing on his blog, Brown said: "Can you honestly imagine anything - anything - more anus-invertingly unpalatable than this? I hate myself for drawing attention to it. So proud to be in telly."

Acorah and Sky1 have both received criticism from fans over the show. One Digital Spy forum member wrote: "Sick, sick, sick. although i have no doubt that it will attract loads of viewers.. Derick (sic) can do his research in advance anyway, so it wouldn't be convincing even if was genuine. Just let the man rest in peace."

Another complained: "To even contemplate at all is sick. To do it so soon since he died he is even worse. And to get Derek f**king Acorah hosting it is beyond bad taste.

"What the hell are Sky thinking? If their subscribers had any sense they should be jamming the customer service phone lines to register their disgust."

Michael Jackson: The Live Séance airs Sunday at 10pm on Sky1.
