5770: Donna receives the DNA results

Donna receives the results of the DNA test but they’re inconclusive. James informs her that there’s a more accurate test they can do, but it will cost around $8,000. However, Donna is undeterred and tells him she wants to do it, even though James isn’t sure where she’s going to get her half of the $8,000 from.

Later, Donna tells Elle about the DNA test being inconclusive and decides to sell off some of her belongings in the hope of raising the $4,000 she needs to contribute towards the new test. However, not everything goes according to plan as Donna struggles to find buyers for her belongings.

Elle tries to talk Donna out of undergoing such an expensive exercise, but just when Donna seems to have come around to Elle’s way of thinking, James tells her that he’s excited to find out the truth and introduce her to the family. Not wanting to disappoint James, Donna comes up with a plan to secure herself the $4,000 required, but will she betray one of her loved ones in the process?

It’s father’s day and Callum and Ben have cooked a special breakfast for Toadie and Dan. While the two men try to enjoy the unusual breakfast of eggs on toast with tomato sauce and maple syrup, the boys lie that this is just a joke and their real presents are coming before scurrying off to Susan for help. However, Karl isn’t impressed at Susan just handing over money to the boys and instead tells them that they’ll need to work for it and says he has just the job for them - gardening.

Fed up with Karl’s chores, Callum and Ben head down to Lassiter’s and begin busking. However, when they distract from Donna’s stall, she lures away their audience with a cheerleading routine. Meanwhile, Sophie tells the boys that father’s day is stupid and Ben retorts that she only thinks that because she doesn’t have a dad. Later, the boys come up with a kind way of apologising to Sophie.
