I wasn't expecting it back till after I'm a celeb now.
Next week is this five night Collison drama - looks thrilling, or not, and then following week I'm a celeb starts - find the dvd collection.

So I was half thinking maybe this was the last episode of 2009 and if that had been the case to have it with the final original cast member leaving would have been rather apt.

I'm just hopeing that my freeviews working on monday when the repeats on itv3, signals been going off all day down here today and it meant I didn't get a chance to set the record on the toppy and what did I do, fell asleep during corrie and completely missed The bill. Anyone know if its on btv cos its not on itvplayer is it.

After tonight's show (Thurs 5th Nov 09, ITV1, 9pm) The Bill will return after a four week break, on Thursday 10th December 09.
I am guessing it will air over the two weeks of Christmas / New Years, just on other days, there is no way its going to air on New Years Eve, but Christmas Eve isnt totally impossible.

However yes its quite apt Tony leaving in the last episode before the break.

Its funny now is not a time for theBill to be off air, New Tricks is off air, and ratings have been stable even shown signs of growth the best few weeks.

I thought the whole episode was poor not just the Tony scenes. Tbh I wasn't expecting the scenes with Tony to be very good, anyone who has left The Bill recently has had a really odd exit storyline that springs from nowhere, they seem perfectly happy in their job at Sun Hill, then within two episodes they announce they've applied for transfer, been accepted, and are leaving that day. As if!!

I cringed every time we saw Chelsea last night because it was so obviously not a real child. How stupid do they think viewers are

I thought last night's episode was bad. I didn't see the point in revisiting that storyline if there was not going to be a twist. It was just like the one a few weeks ago. Are they running out of ideas?

What a poor exit for such a legendary character, you'd at least think they'd show a few minutes in the pub at his leaving do or something, but no, just "come to Tony's to get smashed". Lovely.

He deserved so much better, shouldn't have even been axed in the first place. I will miss Tony.

Same happened with Americas Next Top Model a couple of weeks ago, got replaced by Most Haunted Live and they said nothing as if it wasn't going to ruin anyone's monday evening

Terrible episode, the same storyline as 2 weeks ago, and a rubbish send off for one of the shows top and longest serving characters.

I want the old Bill back, he would have had a decent last episode for definite.

i thought that last nights episode of The Bill was ok but i agree with everyone else that Tony deserved a much better exit than he got - TB are good at most things but when it comes to writing a character out of the show they are shite!!!

here here! His exit was awful! Was hardly in the ep. Would've been nice to see a bit of his leaving do, or walking away. Instead it was... dreadful.

I dont disagree, I think its very telling that the 9pm episodes have yet to rate better than the first 9pm episode.

As I said on the linked website, ratings are stable & showing growth at the moment (even if they are still low) now may not be the best time for the show to be off air.

It's the perfect time for it to be off air if, as some of us think, ITV are trying to kill it off without anyone noticing.

Note that there will be no episode of The Bill on Thursday, November 12 due to other scheduling commitments. The Bill will return on Thursday, November 19 at 9pm on ITV1.

found this on DS is this true or is it 4 weeks as rumoured

this is very telling of the drop in standards of Digital Spy since it was sold, the 4 week break is confirmed (from the shows offical YouTube account) the fact Digital Spy is saying that its back on the 19th is a poor reflection on Digital Spy.
