Brand: "I am ready for children"

Russell Brand has said that he is ready to settle down and start a family with girlfriend Katy Perry.

The 34-year-old has been dating the singer since September after they were spotted together at an MTV VMAs after party. Reports last month suggested that the pair are "in love".

"Katy's lovely. I am living in a different way at the moment," he told The Sunday Times.

"Regardless of what happens in my current situation, I am unlikely to be satisfied with calamitous promiscuity of the preceding five or six years."

Brand added: "I am ready for children actually. It's been seven years since I took drugs. I've made a film. I don't have to fight so much. I've grown weary of the carousel."
