He's already released a couple of suitably bombastic power ballads, Idol winner's/runner's up song 'No Boundaries' and 'Time For Miracles' from the 2012 soundtrack, but the "official lead single" from Adam Lambert's debut album is a rather different beast. Actually it's a rather glittery beast - a minotaur in eyeliner, if you will.

It's called 'For Your Entertainment', it's an electropop stomper produced by Dr Luke ('Party In The USA', 'Circus', 'Since U Been Gone'), and it's streaming over on his official website now. The lyrics are a cascade of clichés ("Your fallen angel swept you off your feet / I'm about to turn up the heat"), and if we were being cruel we might say it calls to mind a decaffeinated Goldfrapp, but the chorus is catchy enough and Lambo gives good shriek towards the end.

So yes, it's essentially in territory, but it certainly hasn't dimmed our enthusiasm for Adam's debut album, which features a fairly incredible cast of contributors including Max Martin, RedOne, Lady GaGa, Muse and... wait for it... Justin Hawkins from The Darkness.
