'Up' beats latest 'Saw' at UK box office

Pixar's Up has beaten Saw VI to retain its place at the UK box office summit.

The 3D animation's £3.8 million take overpowers Saw's £1.7 million to secure it the top spot for the third week running. The opening is the UK's lowest for the Saw series, which peaked with £2.5 million for Saw III in 2006.

Fantastic Mr Fox is a new entry at number three with £1.5 million, while Cirque du Freak debuts in fifth place. Last week's runner-up Couples Retreat slips to four after crossing the £900,000 mark.

Elsewhere, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs leaps back into the top ten, climbing a place from number 11.
