2009-10 DS Premier League Prediction Competition

Is it that time again already? I've been busy enjoying the cricket (well, until today anyway)....

Right, down to business. Welcome to the fourth season of the DS Premier League Prediction Competition. The rules are almost the same as last season, but for any newbies here we go:

Simply predict what you think the result of every Premier League game will be this season. Points are awarded thus:

If you pick the right winner but by the wrong scoreline you get two points, eg: you pick Man Utd 2-0 Aston Villa but it ends up 2-1 to the Champions.

The same applies if you plump for a draw, and it is a draw, but by a different scoreline, eg: you predict a 1-1 draw but it ends 0-0.

If you get the right result AND the scoreline spot on, you are awarded five points.

Better still, if this occurs in a game with four or more goals in it, eg: 3-1, 2-2, 1-3 etc, you gain a whopping seven points.

Every week we publish a new table of your total for that round, accumulating over the season just like the real PL.

However, only your best 35 out of 38 rounds will count, this is to account for participants holidays, late starters, and not having to beat yourself up too much when you have a mare of a week.

The only other rule you need to be aware of is what we call blanket bombing. Slightly different this season, you may select FOUR identical results in your list of ten, but no more. By this I mean you could pick four 1-0 home wins, four 0-1 away wins and two other, but NOT eight 1-0 home wins.

Should anyone have any queries by all means raise them on the thread or PM me, the first set of fixtures shall follow.

Roll of honour:
2006-07: Tennis Maestro
2007-08: Tokyo
2008-09: Tokyo

Can anyone stop our man in Japan from landing an unprecedented treble?!

Oh yeah, and Cow Pat Corner shall return too.....

Could Burnley be the new Hull?

For the last two seasons, I have missed out on the top ten by a mere whisker. I'm hoping to change that this season.

TC, will Lawro be allowed to take part after his expulsion last season?

The first few weeks tend to be unpredictable.

A lot of work is involved in this competition so entrants must promise to stay the course, otherwise they will be summarily cow-patted & placed in a sep Lawro's League!

Dimstats available this season?
