An exciting year ahead

I am so glad I got my column back! Woohoo!! I'll be staying around for another year I hope, bringing you news of your favourite MYM Warcraft III players, and at the same time bringing them closer to their fans. :)

I would like to take the chance to thank all our fans who had been cheering for us, even when we didn't have a team. Looks like we will be continuing our journey in e-Sports for awhile more, please continue to walk next to us, and we will do our best for the community.

The exciting year ahead
The good news is Warcraft III is very much alive, and will stay so for at least another year. This year there will be lots of tournaments. Probably the earliest tournament is Samsung Euro Championship, though the date and time is not announced yet, it could be in April. Following that, we have the two biggest tournament of the year - ESWC and WCG which are both confirmed to have Warcraft III in their playlist. Tournaments that might happen are e-Stars, World e-Sports Masters, Blizzcon, Dreamhack, and perhaps lots more that are yet to be announced. We also have the ongoing WC3L team league and NGL solo leagues, both really exciting to watch. It's gonna be an action packed year! Stay with me, and I'll bring you bits and pieces of news from the Warcraft III scene the whole year round!

Warcraft III Team
MYM.WC3 died for around 3 weeks, and it was revived again but now under a different management. It happened when ESNation shifted their focus and have higher priorities in other projects, thus they decided to drop the Warcraft III and Starcraft.

It's a long story so I'm going to briefly explain. In summary, Frontspawn (Ronnie's company) who obtained the MYM franchise, decided to open a new Warcraft III team. Now the managing director of MYM is Denmark Ronnie "Twaizz" Jelsbak. All the MYM teams (MYM.CS, MYM.Female.CS, MYM.Dota and MYM.WC3) are now directly under the care and management of Ronnie and his marketing director Denmark Nicolas "pops" Estrup. Ronnie and Nicolas will have complete focus on the players as well as try to bring new and potential sponsors into our world of e-Sports. They have exciting plans in store for us.

That's why we are all here again. Our new team is only a few days old, and the roster is small, we have only 3 players - Netherlands Manuel "Grubby" Schenkhuizen, Russian Fede- Dmitry "Happy" Kostin and Denmark René "Ciara" Krag - but I think they make a pretty good team overall. In addition to being a columnist, I will also take over the job of the Warcraft III manager. Being a new team and having limited budget, it's economical for the team if we can all multi-task instead of hiring many helpers. Losemann and Nordahl will be missed, they had done a great job of managing the big roster from before. I hope I can do the job as well as them, though there's really not a whole lot of things to do now except scheduling and managing three players. Still, the honor is mine. :)

Team events
Usually at team events, I experience the event, take lots of pictures and write blogs and bring news and stories to the fans. Now that I'm the manager, there will be more responsibilties. I can't fall asleep during games anymore. The previous previous NGL in Berlin, while I was watching the game of Hasuobs vs Soju on Twisted Meadows, I fell asleep! The game lasted for around 50 minutes, but it felt like an hour. They even went to the islands in the corner! I couldn't help it, the dark gaming room was quite sleep-inducing as well.

Then two days later, someone showed me this picture of me on Fragster. I look like a ghost!!

Well, this is the kind of freedom I will not have now. During team events, no matter how long or how boring a game is, I can not fall asleep! :p

If I do.. my players can use a hammer and knock me awake. ^^

That's it for now, see you in my next column.

P.S.: We will definitely arrange for Grubby to broadcast his games on xfire again sometime soon. The date and time will be posted in this column. Stay tuned!

It is quite a shame considering how long nordahl/losemann were in MYM that they were not re-invited when the WC3 team was re-opened. Their loyalty should have been repaid =[

Good to see Grubby/Happy in a team together, and Ciara, since he got a rough deal last time he left MYM =]

Hope the blogs will be as regular as during PGL=]

I do too, of course ;) after those days, I've started reading pretty much all your articles :) stay the way you are, you're doing a good job and maybe people like you will keep warcraft alive longer than it seems to be the case right now (at least here in europe)!
