- How will Obama’s presidency change hip-hop? - For Jay-Z, the fact that he got rich as a businessman constitutes its own rebellion. Obama, though, is a former community organizer who chose public service over private-sector paychecks. In this regard, his example might open up new sorts of narratives in hip-hop, ones where power isn't a synonym for wealth.

- Michael Beirut’s Notebooks - Twenty-six years–fascinating and timely, had just read an interview of Beirut a few weeks ago and his mention of his notebooks stuck out to me. I've been taking a lot more notes lately myself, finding it much easier on paper to capture things.

- Basics of Wire Sculpture - I'm inspired by seeing the Alexander Calder exhibit at the Whitney. The shadows from the light on his hanging wire sculptures make a living doodle on the wall.
