'Real Housewives' to air in syndication

Episodes of Bravo's Real Housewives franchise will air in syndication.

The reruns of the popular US programme are to be televised in autumn 2010, the New York Post reports.

It is expected that the Atlanta, Orange County, New York City and New Jersey editions will broadcast in continuous blocks for the sake of continuity on NBC-owned stations.

Housewives will be shown in New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, Washington, Miami and Connecticut. The series will also air on Hearst-run stations in Sacramento, Tampa and Baltimore.

"The Real Housewives is a very successful franchise, especially popular with women," said NBC local media president John Wallace.

He added: "And by coming to broadcast television stations in daytime, this series will appeal to a new audience that is looking for something that stands out from the pack."

Bravo recently renewed New Jersey for a second season to return in 2010. A fifth instalment will be set in Washington, DC.
