Trade and Market Access Home

Two-thirds of Australia’s agricultural products are exported. Creating new and maintaining existing export market opportunities which provide the greatest gains for portfolio industries is vitally important for the Department’s international work. Australia exports around 65 per cent of its farm products, 75 per cent of its fish products and 60 per cent of its forest products.

We ensure Australian agricultural and food export interests are reflected in bilateral market access and multilateral trade negotiations in the global trading environment. The Trade and Market Access Division is responsible for Market Access and Trade issues.

Over 1.7 million Australian jobs are directly or indirectly connected to exports
