Henderson is an important figure for John Kear's side

Wakefield centre or second row Kevin Henderson has signed a new two-year contract with the Wildcats. The 28-year-old Scotland international made 20 appearances in the club's 2009 Super League campaign. Henderson, formerly of Newcastle Knights and South Sydney Rabbitohs, joined the club from Leigh in 2005. Coach John Kear said: "Kevin is the sort of player every team needs. He puts his hand up to the dirty work time and time again and he does it well." Wakefield's season ended with a defeat by Catalans Dragons in the first round of the play-offs on Saturday.
