Two Consolidated Edison workers suffered burns from a gas explosion in Queens.

According to the New York City Fire Department, the two workers were repairing a gas main leak when a low-pressure gas line at 119th Street and Sixth Avenue in College Point burst around 1:30 p.m.

The blast sent a huge plume of smoke into the sky that was captured in a photograph by a NY1 viewer.

Con Edison cut off gas to about 13 homes in the neighborhood, while the fire was put out and repairs were made.

"Con Ed will have to work on their main and they'll have an investigation into what happened and restore gas to the residents of the area," said Deputy Fire Chief Mark Ferran.

One worker was taken to Jacobi Hospital with burns to his face and hands, but he is in stable condition. The other worker was also burned on the face.

Con Edison officials are investigating the leak and explosion.
