While most Fashion Week designers showed off their new lines for the spring, Ann Taylor showed off looks you can see today and buy tomorrow. NY1's Jessica Abo filed the following report.

A star-studded crowd gathered in the New York Public Library to take a first look at Ann Taylor's current collection.

"We're showing fall winter which is a little different from the traditional runway schedule," says Ann Taylor designer Lisa Axelson. "I think customers today are so engaged and excited by fashion that everybody's watching these shows but we really wanted to reach out and touch our client in a way that she could see it, get excited and then have instant gratification, but being able to shop it tomorrow."

Celebrities who came to see what gravel, ground pepper and granite separates, and merino and mohair looks Ann Taylor has up her sleeve say they can't wait to get into the wardrobe.

"It's hip, it's sexy, it's wearable, it's clean," says singer-actress Vanessa Williams. "It's beautiful and it's a wide range. I can wear it and my young daughters can wear it as well."

"I loved the sweaters. I loved a lot of the tops and the pants," says actress Amanda Byrnes. "I thought they were very put together, really sophisticated."

"I love accessibility and I thought the clothes were really wonderful, sexy and casual and I love to always feel comfortable," says actress Mena Suvari.

"I'm one of these people who doesn't like to follow all these trends," says boxer Laila Ali. "I like timeless pieces and they always have those pieces that every woman should have in their closet."

While grays and neutrals will carry you through the fall and winter, Axelson says yellow will be the big color this spring.

"Yellow is a color of optimism and hope. And I think the way the economy has been and the challenging world we live in, I think we're looking for something that makes us happy and feel good," she says.

If you like the tailored look, pieces start as low as $24, which means the cosmopolitan creations from the runway can become reality while keeping your finances out of the red.
