From extreme sports in the living room to an elementary school classic, the latest video game titles are sure to please. NY1's Adam Balkin filed the following report.

The Active Life franchise is quickly becoming one of the ultimate go-to titles for parents who think their video game obsessed kids need to get more exercise.

The franchise is out with its second title, "Active Life: Extreme Challenge." Once again, it comes packaged with its own mat controller on which the real world gamer will have to run, jump, hop and skip in order to make their on-screen virtual counterpart do the same.

This time around, there are 15 mini-games for one or two players, and they're generally focused around extreme sports. From the not so extreme double dutch jump roping, to the more hardcore ones like BMX biking, inline skating, skateboarding, and base jumping.

This Wii exclusive also often times requires pumping, waving, and swinging the Wii remotes, making the mini-games full body activities.

"Active Life: Extreme Challenge" costs $60 for the bundle with the mat. If you have the mat though from the first title, "Outdoor Challenge", you can buy the game by itself for $40.

And here's a high tech twist on an old activity many of us used to do when we should've been paying more attention in class -- making those doodle flip books. "Flipnote Studio" allows you to do exactly that with your Nintendo DSi handheld. You draw something, flip the page and it shows a light outline of the previous page so you know what to copy and how to move your animation forward. You then go at it and can use a few different colors, different pen or paint patterns. You can even add music or upload photos and go from there.

Once you're done, just press play and choose which speed makes it look best. You can also save your creations, send them to friends who also have a DSi and there's even and online community for users to upload and share their creations.

Another nice thing about "Flipnote Studio" is that since it's a free download from the Nintendo DSi online shop, it's even cheaper than the post-it pad and pencil you needed back in elementary school.
