IRKUTSK, September 14 (RIA Novosti) - Three people were killed in a fire that broke out in a tourist campsite near Siberia's famous Lake Baikal, a spokesman for the region's emergencies service said on Monday.
"The fire broke out in an administrative building, but there are no tourists at the moment. However, 25 members of staff were in the building when the blaze began," the spokesman said.
The bodies of a 35-year-old woman and two men were found after the fire was put out.
The camp, one of the largest in the area, has no roads connecting it with the nearest fire station, which is 75 km (47 miles) away. A fire engine with 13 firefighters has been sent to the camp.
The cause of the fire is being established.
