While trying to get sponsors for this series the producers approached the Volkswagen executives and showed them the pilot show which featured actual bombing footage from the war. During the film one of the executives recognized the plant that was being bombed as the VW plant which had made cars for the German army at the time. He commented, "There goes our plant", and the executives then and there decided not to sponsor the show. moreGoofs:

Greetings 12 O Clock High buff, I love the 12 O Clock High just like you do. I have all the 78 episodes on DVD-R. I have recorded off satellite on to my computer hard drive without commercials. I hope you to can enjoy the 12 O Clock High and pass on these great stories to your kids. I work for the US Navy supporting Far East operations for your Navy ships which are home-ported overseas to keep the peace. Many times these ship are the first response to global events which you read about or see on TV. These pilots in TOH are the brave of the brave, to face death and make it back to England, then have to fly again in a few days. Let's chat about the series, send me and email. Briefing is at 0600 for the next mission. Like General Savage says, "Bombardier, it's your airplane."
