MYM was a powerhouse since I remember. Awesome players doing their best to win, great writing staff and nice community. Couple months ago it all collapsed and we, esport spectators, weren't sure what's going on. Explanations weren't clear enough and only few people knew what really happened. Now, after 5 (if I count correctly) months, website is up with new owners and players are going to arrive soon. Let's take a short walk-through of our expectations and speculations.

First of all lets talk about Counter Strike (one of my personal favorite games). We all know what's going to happen (hopefully). Ex-mym, ex-wicked team, also known as 'Golden Five' or 'those 5 Polish dudes' are currently without a contract - will they join MYM? As far as I remember the 'old MYM' didn't pay them (just like wicked?) so even though they are an obvious choice for this team, we don't know if this team is an obvious choice for them. Time will show. I'd like to see Poles playing here again but to be honest... I'm not sure if they really want to.

Secondly, Warcraft 3 and the dream team. Moon is playing for WeMadeFox - no chance to comeback. Grubby - Evil Geniuses and after his proposal which was a great advertisement for the team and their sponsors - they won't let him go. Ciara and Happy? EG as well and they are not worth much I guess - haven't seen Ciara doing something outside his country for a long time. I might be wrong at this point but Happy after reaching 3rd place on last year's WCG didn't do much as well. On the market there are no valuable free-agents to recruit. At this point I don't believe MYM will be able to get such glorious team as they had before (they might even consider not taking any w3 team at all).

Starcraft is a game which I have no clue about - what I know is that they had top players before and I'd like to see them back. SC looks like a really cool game (even more fun to watch than w3) and if you're the owner of top team outside Korea - having it back is not a bad idea.

DoTa - I hate this thing. It's not an esport game, it gives you no money at all, tournaments that are only known to people interested in this W3 based game. Have no idea what's going to happen with it.

MYM wasn't achieving much on other platforms. Do you remember CoD team and FIFA? No chance to invest in them.

Now I'll try to focus on writing staff aka 'website content'. Jonas is back! Like I wrote in one of the comments - I believe that in 2 or 3 weeks time when the whole crew will be gathered, MYM is going to get back on top. Even SK didn't have such awesome tournaments coverage. I'd like to see more videos though.

Money was always the problem. I wish the new MYM all the best. I just hope they won't overpay players and they will write some clear statements about people leaving the team (which they didn't do back in April). I hope that articles like 'More of Your Money' won't be written again and the new management or the people who hold the budget won't do the same mistakes.

Hmmm.... CS i think we'll be pretty surprised by the outcome... warcraft and dota teams have to be there cause accordingly MYM was and is famous for that.. but again as u say u never know... i think instead of COD or FIFA picking up players for Quake or something similar makes more sense... i would Quake and COD would make a nice other platform team.. but i could be wrong.. lets see.. i'm still waiting to get a clearer picture...

I don't know about dota, but as for the warcraft - are there any good free-agents without contract atm? Same goes with Quake I think...

Mym had very good fifa team from spain. They were doing very nice in their country as i heard so I think that was a good ad. What about w3 you are 100% right, but time will show, maybe they will suprise.

I wasn't 100% sure about what that FIFA team was doing, so thanks for pointing that out. Still, I think that because they were good in Spain, at that time wasn't good for MYM as they needed internationally known team - that's why I didn't write about any achievements. :D Last edited by M1sio at 30.08.2009, 10:29

If u dont understand DotA, it is a mix of CS (with respawn, not roundbased) and RPG which become really popular. The only problem at this game is, that it is NOT noob friendly. U need at least 1 year playing to get in touch into the whole game. So you have to be in this game to understand it. It is really noob unfriendly...

But I agree with the fact, that it is not an e-sport game :) It requires a lot of skill to reach the top level but then it is easier to stay at this level than in other games. Adding to that the gaemplay changes every 4 months due to big patches. It is not like CS, Wc3 where you just need to train the same tactics on different maps all the time to be a good player/team.
That is why it often happens in DotA that the leading teams in the versions are changing every 3-4 weeks :) Ofc there are teams who perform overall well but there is not a team that can rape basically everything and teams who are "low" or didnt show a big performance online can win big offline tournaments.

I don't want to get back to the argue we had couple months ago, before the website was closed. I don't like dota, I think it's no-skilled game for noobs (and noob unfriendly as well). Dota is like wow - if you're not into it, you have no freaking idea what's going on. dota <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< W3 period.

But this is just my opinion and I don't want to argue about it now.
PS (very important): I'm not talking about people who play this game, I don't know you and without knowing you, it's impossible to judge :) I just think dota sux. That's all.

PS2: This is why I wrote about great community - coz even if you and other people got different opinions, you try to talk like people and not flaming like animals >< 'Thumbs up I guess'.

First of all it is not like I dont understand you and my mind also changes :) I hate wow aswell i.e. and I understand people that think dota requires no skill. It is just about team play :P
But who cares...

But a big problem is that one cannot judge something as long as one did not try it. I.e. in germany there are plenty of politics who say that video games are bad, manipulate poeple in a bad way but they never even tried to play such a game. And even if you try to play it, you cannot judge the game by playing public/on a low level . You need to advance in the high skill level to say that the game is bad/imbalanced/stupid etc. :D
I often see people crying over imba Orc or Ne but they play on such a pathetic level that their opinion doesnt matter !! They play stupid, not worth to be mentioned, public games (really low skill games) :D
Maybe the tournament results may be contra orc since they won a lot lately. But I cannot judge just by these results since I am a low skilled wc3 player and I dont understand what the players are thinking while playing those maps. There is no way I can judge it in any correct way... But I can happily watch th000 replays and see his imba innvovative strats <3

Quake seems to be back in a good shape since many famous sites started to cover quakelive i.e. . Adding to that there are new DotA clones coming out like Heroes of Newerth or League of Legends which might get a strong position soon (at least HoN; LoL (what a srsrly really stupid shortcut) will fail). Mb a WoW team might take a part here aswell since there used to be one here and SK gets everytime an orgasm covering their own 30 wow teams from all over the world. Moreover we shouldnt talk about SC yet since it will come out in like 1 or 2 or to be realistic in 3 years by judging the wc3 patches. "It will come in decembre "(14 months later it really came!)

Finally to be realistic: We see DotA, CS and Wc3 coverage. What teams might join mym??? Have a guess.

As Matthe said, we discussed it - that's my effin personal opinion and you don't have to agree with it - I don't give a ... . About committing suicide n shit - you're the one who look like sad lame emo kid so if you want me to get you some knives so you can cut yourself because of somebody dissing your 'cut3 gamezors' - I'll do that with pleasure.

I have also played those games (even though it wasn't at professional level) so gtfo or better - get a life.
