Boy, 14, shot, killed in OaklandSunday, August 23, 2009 (08-22) 09:04 PDT OAKLAND -- A 14-year-old boy was shot and killed in Oakland, police said Saturday. More Bay Area NewsRicardo Cortez Jr. was found suffering from gunshot wounds on the 1700 block of 47th Avenue about 8:40 p.m. Friday, said Officer Jeff Thomason, Oakland police spokesman. The boy was taken to Highland Hospital in Oakland, where he was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made in the slaying, and a motive is under investigation. E-mail Henry K.
