A suspect has been arrested in the stabbing death of a Stockton woman at a light-rail station in San Jose, authorities said today.

David Pilipina, 19, of San Jose was arrested Thursday on suspicion of murder in the slaying of 19-year-old Kristina Harris-Perkins, said Santa Clara County sheriff's Sgt. Rick Sung.

Pilipina was arrested after a short foot chase on the 2000 block of Monterey Highway, Sung said.

Harris-Perkins, a 19-year-old Oakland man and a 16-year-old girl were stabbed during a fight between two groups at the Alum Rock light-rail station platform about 10:25 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.

A motive for the case is still under investigation.
