Lineup: No Freddy or Nate

Freddy Sanchez is out of the lineup with a sore left shoulder, and Nate Schierholtz is out of the lineup because of a manager's decision.

"It's difficult with the outfielders," Bruce Bochy said. "Right now, Nate's playing well. Randy (Winn) gets three hits last night. Nate is our best pinch-hitter, so it's nice to have him there. It's not something he wants to hear, but he'll get some starts. It's not easy not writing Nate's name in the lineup. With the way the game went yesterday (10-1 win in New York), I didn't want to change it."

It's the third straight game Schierholtz, hitting .296 on the season and .327 over his last 34 games, was out of the lineup. He hit a bases-loaded double as a pinch hitter Monday and is 13-for-30 in a pinch, his .433 average tied for highest in the majors.

Schierholtz is taking the high road.

"I come to the park to play every day," he said. "I try not to let it affect me. I know my chance will come to play every day."

The lineup: LF Velez, SS Renteria, 3B Sandoval, C Molina, RF Winn, 1B Garko, CF Rowand, 2B Uribe, RHP Lincecum.
