MOSCOW, July 27 (RIA Novosti) - Six people including four children drowned when their boat capsized on a river in the Khanty Mansi autonomous district of western Siberia, a police spokesman said.
The bodies of two of the children were retrieved from the water after the accident on Sunday, and rescuers are continuing the search for the other bodies.
"The tragedy occurred on the Yuganskaya arm of the River Ob, presumably due to strong winds and waves," the spokesman told RIA Novosti.
A local emergencies official said: "The bodies were found by the three passengers in the boat who survived. They pulled up the bodies of the children, born in 2007 and 2009. Rescuers from Surgut were sent to the scene."
He said the boat capsized after hitting a snag, and that eight passengers and one captain were on board at the time.
