July 7 (Kosovo Times) - The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has recognized the Republic of Kosovo. The information was first released by the Justice Party of Kosovo and later was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Albana Beqiri, the Political Advisor to the Minister of the Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, confirmed this information for the Kosovo media. Skender Hyseni, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, is awaiting the note verbale on the recognition and will not make any official comment before the new is anounced by the Jordanian Government. Jordan is the 61 UN member state to recognize the independence of the Republic of Kosovo. The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is also the 5th member of the Arab League to recognize Kosovo.
