The Department of Data Processing, one of the sections of the recently incorporated Division of Information Systems, is responsible for the development and maintenance of the in-house data systems that keep the Institute administration running smoothly. In recent years, the group has doubled in size and budget, and firmly positioned itself in the forefront of interactive networking software development.
Data Processing at the Weizmann Institute is making rapid progress toward its primary goal, which is the seamless integration of its many web-enabled administrative applications within a multi-dimensional virtual environment, making them accessible from any existing platform on campus.
The department is a busy place these days, with many exciting new projects being developed simultaneously. As one of the Institute's foremost service groups,
the Department of Data Processing has a large number of exciting current and future projects in the works, and is moving steadily toward its goal of a completely web-enabled environment.
