Whilst it is not possible to equate age and experience with success, the reality is that although some professional salespeople do have ten years experience, most have one year’s experience ten times!
In talking about how to be successful in prospecting, step 2 is in setting up a consistent process where nothing falls through the cracks, and you build a predictable, provable system for success. This is done through implementing a sure-fire sales process.
Whatever social networking sites you join, remember that we have become a highly transparent society due in large part to these very tools! That makes the decision of which ones to join--coupled with your own behavior once you have joined--even more critical to your networking success.
During a recent interview, I was asked, "What does the future hold for the work force, especially for salespeople? How will the salesperson of tomorrow change or be different to adapt to the times?" Of course, my visceral reaction was to come up with something so transformational and insightful that it would reshape the landscape of professional selling and salesmanship.
I totally agree with your excellent article. I have known very creative people in business who claim to produce 'custom' solutions fo each situation. But if you dig deeper, there is a naturalised 'process' within these creative people.
Right you are, Ravi. Attitude isn't everything but it's far more than 50% of success. In fact, I'd put it at about 80% of success. Woody Allen almost got it right when he said 90% of success is showing up. He should have said 90% of success is showing up with the right attitude.
I am all about the change!!!! It is amazing how technology is all around us. The ones that do well know where to find the right technology and make the most out of it. Check this one out to learn more about the future of the salesperson: http://www.SuradoCRM.com/ondemandcrm ...

The Salesperson of The Future. Will They Truly Evolve and Be Different or Is it Just About Living It?
From the minute we were born, we start selling. How do we get our mothers attention for milk? Selling is one of the oldest profession in the world. Paul you are spot on. Being a Sales professional has less to do with 'techniques' but all about the attitude.
This is offensive. "jerks sell?" Not to me, my man.
How about having a product to sell that is valuable to the customer, is of good quality, and backing it up with excellent customer service and dropping the attitude.
I think you must have sold your own soul if this is how you operate.
Also- if j is for jerkiness and l is for likeability, I'm guessing s should be for schizophrenic ...
