ADEVARUL
Around 9,000 Romanian coal miners have been temporarily laid off due to a fall in orders and of a rise in coal stockpiles, according to company officials. The miners in the southern Oltenia region would receive 75% of their salaries for a month and then start work again on July 15.

ROMANIA LIBERA
Romanian researchers who study abroad show no interest in coming back to Romania due to lower salaries and a lack of support from local universities.

FINANCIARUL
A mission from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is set to visit Romania by end of this month to check on the country's progress in making economic reforms. If the IMF decides criteria laid out in their loan agreement have been met, then Romania will receive around €1.9 billion (£1.6 billion) on September 15th.
