Prepare Your Finances for Winter: Home Energy Audit
Good post. A DIY audit or online audit is a great place to start. There are some problems, though, that only an experienced practioner with the right equipment can spot for you?and combustion safety falls in that arena. So do blower door and infrared testing. Check out an introduction to a more comprehensive audit at http://greenhomesamerica.wordpress.com/2008/10/08/home-energy-audits/

Are Our Teens Turning Green? Cosmetics exposed! In an awareness to raise the level of consciousness of safer cosmetics teens all across America have come together to promote and educate the general public about potentially harmful ingredients in beauty products and our daily personal care products. Many are totally unaware just how harmful these seemingly innocent products that we use everyday truly are. We think that because we pay a higher price it must mean our cosmetics are safe when in fact too many are linked to cancer, reproductive harm and other health risks. Their mission? To educate the public about the many harmful chemicals found in their personal care, advocate for legislation that protects our rights to health and to effect a change within our communities. The word is getting out as more and more people are voicing their preferences to stay free of toxins and harmful cosmetics are being pulled from the shelves. In fact sometimes it simply takes one person to inform the store managers of the dangers in the products they are promoting. Too many have no idea what toxins are actually sitting on their shelves. Consumers can be exposed to these toxins through skin absorption, inhalation, and ingestion. A personal care product use survey of more than 2,300 people, conducted by EWG and a coalition of public interest and environmental health organizations, shows that the average adult uses 9 personal care products each day, with 126 unique chemical ingredients. Consumers can be fooled into buying products that don't deliver what they sell. Chemical ingredients which our body doesn?t need or respond to very well! In response to this organizations for Safe cosmetics are being formed. Their voices along with yours are being heard. Eco-friendly skin care products are being developed, as well as beauty aids and make-up. We as the consumer must continue to educate ourselves and those around us. Have you heard of the dirty dozen? Let me know if you are interested in learning more! Thanks for the wonderful article. Lori 435 632-6074 ...
