What is ExtremeTech?
If you're like us then you're looking for information on technology in upwards of fifty different places. In a medium that's meant to be efficient, the Internet has yet to offer you a lot of efficiency. That's where ExtremeTech comes in.

We're a thriving community of users and experts seeking to answer the unanswerable questions of technology. We dig deep into the subterranean depths of technological knowledge, digging up the most vital, behind-the-scenes tidbits that make any technocrats drool soda on his chips. How do we know? Because we're technocrats ourselves, and we're always drooling.

To put it simply, we're a one-stop-shop for serious technological needs. Our writers spelunk into the abyss of the future in search of the real story behind what's out there today, and what will be out there tomorrow. You, our dynamic community fills in all the gaps by gabbing and chatting about anything and everything.

More important than any other aspect, we're a site built by our community for our community. We take pride in you.

What types of stories do you cover?
We go deeper into technology than anyone has gone before. If you need to know how the disks grind and how the chips hum, you're at the right place. We eat, sleep, and breathe technology.

We not only look at products, but we look behind-the-scenes and explore the concepts that drive them. We all learn together through expert articles as well as the follow-up discussion.

Who are the writers?
The writers for ExtremeTech hail as the best of the best in our technocracy. We searched far and wide for people who were not only techno-enthusiasts, but people who were obsessed. Many have been with us for years, ever since we launched PC Magazine, our tree-killing sister product. And most recently, we played into their obsession by giving them a mission, to create the deepest, heartiest content that anyone has ever seen. They smirked, and gladly accepted the mission.

Today the writers are still out there, in the field, roaming on the edge of technological sanity. Constantly interacting with us in the community, these savants are not only accessible, but also essential. Having the smartest users on the Web isn't always easy, the questions that fly on each article's discussion board from users can stump any expert. In the end, it is only through this type of open discussion that we all can truly learn.
