 Fangoria.com’s Gay of the Dead blogger/filmmaker Sean Abley sent over word on his latest production, PORNOGRAPHY, which will have its world premiere in New York City Monday, June 8 at NewFest, The New York LGBT Film Festival. Written and directed by first time feature filmmaker David Kittredge, who edited Abley’s movie SOCKET, PORNOGRAPHY is described by Abley as “a paranormal thriller set in the world of gay adult video.”

 Indie filmmaker Ron Atkins (the man behind SCHIZOPHRENIAC and NECROMANIAC) sent word over that his newest slice of cinematic insanity, MUTILATION MILE, will have its world premiere July 24-25 at Las Vegas, Nevada’s Regency Tropicana Cinemas (3330 East Tropicana). The flick then hits Los Angeles, playing the New Beverly Cinemas August 21-22, with dates in Phoenix, AZ and New York to be announced shortly.

 The folks at Austin, TX’s Alamo Drafthouse sent over a heads-up that tickets go on sale tomorrow for their very special screening of Fred Dekker’s NIGHT OF THE CREEPS. The filmmaker and his cast will present his director’s cut of the 1986 film Saturday, June 13 at 10 p.m. at the Alamo Downtown location (320 East 6th Street).

 When Al Jourgensen an Co. hit the road in 2008 for the C*U*LaTour, the cameras were rolling to capture the experience of Ministry's "Final World Tour." Assembled into ADIOS..., an audio version of the set was released in March containing 13 songs from select dates on the tour. More intriguing, however was the prospect of the double-DVD set, which arrives in stores today.

 It's been an on-again-off-again rumor since the corpse of the TV series just started to get cold, and now it's "on" again. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news late last night that BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER is moving forward for a feature relaunch, sans the man that most associate with the character. "Buffy" creator Joss Whedon isn't involved and it's not set up at a studio, but Roy Lee and Doug Davison of Vertigo Entertainment are working with original movie director Fran Rubel Kuzui and her husband, Kaz Kuzui, on what is being labeled a remake or relaunch, but not a sequel or prequel.

 Pestilence, the Dutch pioneers of Death Metal, has returned with their first new record in over 15 years appropriately entitled RESURRECTION MACABRE. Breathing new life into the long dead band, Patrick Mameli (lead guitars/vocals) has written his most brutal and technical album of his career. In the late 80’s/early 90’s, Pestilence was one of those bands that was not only pushing the boundaries of speed and brutality, but they also managed to combine their adrenaline fueled aggression with laid-back harmony and melody, often incorporating Jazz/Fusion and synth-guitars into their complex orchestrations, a technique that for back then was ahead of it’s time. After 4 successful studio albums, Patrick Mameli felt the band had reached their creative climax and called it quits in 1994 due to irreconcilable differences between band members.
 In our ongoing coverage of Platinum Dunes' A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET remake, occasionally we will be posting set reports and/or photos that could potentially contain SPOILERS. If you're trying to stay "Spoiler-Free", chances are you shouldn't be reading set reports anyway, but do consider yourself warned.This report comes to us from Orland Park, Illinois where the NOES crew filmed an updated version of a classic scene from Wes Craven's 1984 original last week.  The 2009 edition of the Cannes Film Festival has wrapped up, and some much buzzed-about genre titles have walked away with awards. Charlotte Gainsbourg picked up the Best Actress win for her role alongside William Dafoe in Lars Von Trier's ANTICHRIST (see trailer and clips here); Park Chan-Wook's THIRST (slated for an American remake, details here) tied for the Jury Prize with FISH TANK; and the bloody KINATAY snagged best director for Brillante Mendoza.  Amy Lynn Best got in touch with Fango over the weekend to let us know that SPLATTER MOVIE: THE DIRECTOR'S CUT (which we last mentioned here) has officially been released on a special edition DVD. The film was written by Fango scribe Mike Watt, and directed by Best - who also stars in the film alongside EVIL DEAD FX artist Tom Sullivan, FANGORIA RADIO's Debbie Rochon, Sofiya Smirnova (A FEAST OF FLESH), Elske McCain, (JESSIKA RABID, POULTRYGEIST), and more. The film also features the song “Spot the Psycho” by Cornbugs, featuring vocals by Choptop aka Fango fav Bill Moseley.
Here we go! The bad guys have shown their faces, and boy are they ugly! But in a good way because we don’t want no stinking pretty ghosts tearing up the place right? I hate those ghosts, especially the wimpy little girls with long hair covering her face like Samara and Cousin It. That’s not scary. That just begs for me to head to the nearest junk drawer, pull out a pair of scissors, and go to town on that ghost’s hair. Then ground her with no dinner or haunting of the house for a week. Don’t give me no “Boo!” boo.

For a pinnacle issue like number 25, Buffy sure dropped the wooden stake into the fire pit on this one. Well, Buffy didn’t so much as Dark Horse did, but for most comic books on the shelves today, reaching issue 25 is a big thing. It says you have people that really, REALLY like you, and continue to buy your book because it’s so groovy. Instead, BUFFY# 25 delivers us the revelation as to why Dawn was turned into a giant, a centaur, and a living doll. Eight seasons should have taught the Buffy team that Dawn is not the ideal candidate for celebration.

In a follow-up to our segment last week with MUNICIPAL WASTE (see it here), FANGORIA MUSICK's Tony Flores spent some time with Metal Blade's AS I LAY DYING, currently touring in support of their latest album, AN OCEAN BETWEEN US. British filmmaker Marc Price of Nowhere Fast Productions has suddenly been attracting quite a lot of attention with his new, low-cost zombie drama COLIN (see previous story here). Fango spoke to the writer/director last year about the making of his undead opus, while he was in the midst of postproduction; those comments follow below.
