Un Ballo in Maschera
Operatic master Giuseppe Verdi’s three-act work, “A Masked Ball” is loosely based on the assassination of King Gustav III of Sweden. And although the factual accuracy of the libretto is highly questionable - for starters, it’s based in Boston, Massachusetts - the opera is widely praised for the effortless and clever combination of comedy and tragedy. International Architecture Salon
The 14th annual international architecture salon will be held in Zemun, on the shores of the Danube. Presenters from around the world will be showcasing popular innovations and creative products in architecture this year. Knin Showcase
Belgrade’s Living Room club will be hosting a showcase of up-and-coming bands and groups from the Croatian city of Knin. Once a central location in the wartime conflicts of the 1990s, the city had a large Serb population before the war broke out. Milan Milisavljevic
This concert will be held to help the children of a Belgrade orphanage. Milisavljevic is the third solo viola of the New York Metropolitan Opera and a former member of the Concertgebouw Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra, and thus a world-class performer. Kuluncic is a Croatian artist working in various mediums including film. Radar - exhibition
Sasa Markovic and Stevan Novakovic are a pair of artists who combine as ‘Radar’. Their current project is called “Gotovina” and they have combined items from flea markets and rubbish tips around town in order to make art from them. Gerard Causse
Causse is one of the founders of the Intercontemporain Ensemble and is additionally known as a viola soloist. Just like the ensemble that gained him notoriety, he works in the realm of contemporary classical music. He will be accompanied by Nemanja Karjanovic, who Causse teaches at the Paris Conservatorium.
