SCREAM IV looks to the past...

SCREAM"Everything old in Hollywood is becoming new again..." says Entertainment Weekly, and they preach the Gospel on this one.

Back in February we told you about a "new SCREAM TRILOGY" to be penned by series creator Kevin Williamson. Now, the "new" SCREAM is being called a "reboot" according to ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY. But a reboot with the original cast?
Not quite right, as the plans point to further sequels as opposed to a remake, but EW says they've "learned exclusively that Williamson has approached Courteney Cox Arquette and David Arquette to return. Deals have yet to be signed, however, as all involved try to hammer out potential scheduling conflicts that could arise now that Courteney Cox Arquette's pilot Cougar Town was picked up by ABC. (Agents for the actors have yet to return EW's request for comment.) No word on whether Neve Campbell's character, among others, will make the cut."

We will "reboot" this news item as more news arrives.

SCREAM IV? SCREAM AGAIN? ANOTHER SCREAM? What would they call it? We may have to start a new magazine called REMAKE WEEKLY pretty soon Cry

  1. Sweet lord no! Has Hollywood finally lost all talent it once possessed? What's next, Jurassic Park the Remake? I think the libraries may find themselves flooded with people who can no longer tolerate the travesty to horror films. Leave the Scream trilogy alone. They are great films and deserve to be remembered that way. Why not work on getting the new Reanimator movie going? That might be fun to watch at least.
  2. SCREAM 4 MORE!!!! 2010 killer to kill off the horror remakes that is destroying our original horror classics the end?...
  3. Scream: intransitive verb 1 a (1): to voice a sudden sharp loud cry (2): to produce harsh high tones 2 a: to speak or write with intense or hysterical emotion 3 a: What I did when I read this article.
  4. Are they that hard up for material to put in Scare Move 12? What the hell is wrong with Hollywood? I read stories about original films like Case 39 (or whatever it was called) not getting released even though they're wrapped, but the next day I have to read about Saw 23 and a new Nightmare on Elm St., etc? It's actually gone beyond the realm of ridiculous somehow.
  5. oh hell no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Is this a joke? Seriously?! The first go around sucked, and they want o try again. This is absurd. No more remakes, we need FRESH NEW talent. Does anyone have an imagination anymore?
  7. This is the idea that I had hoped they would go in. Scream - the killer copied horror movies. Scream 2 - the killer copied horror movie sequels. Scream 3 - the killer copied horror movie trilogies. the new Scream - the killer copies horror movie remakes and the conventions of the horror movie remakes.
  8. Scream IV: 100% Cotton
